This course already exists in the curriculum and has passed criterial used by the appropriate Eastern Kentucky University Curriculum Committees. In addition, it meets the following Criteria, which are stated in the proposal creating the minor in Women's Studies:

Criterion 1: A primary focus of the course must clearly be on the roles, contributions, and/or experiences of women. Explain specifically the focus of your course.

Criterion 2: The course must enable students to identify and analyze gender-based assumptions and biases and to recognize their consequences on individual, social, and cultural levels. Explan specifically how your course does this.

Criterion 3: Course content must reflect recent scholarship about women and issues especially related to women's concerns, and where possible, use works by women scholars. Explain specifically how your course does this, as exemplified in a detailed course description.

Criterion 4: In keeping with the pedagogy of Women's Studies, the instructor should use teaching techniques which encourage written and oral communication, teacher-student and a student-student collaboration, active learning, and real world involvement. Explain specifically how this is accomplished in your course.
